Version 1.10 is the latest version of PowerTOP, which you can download here.

You can download the source code for older PowerTOP versions:
1.9, 1.8, 1.7, 1.6 , 1.5, 1.4, 1.3, 1.2, 1.1, and 1.0.

Building

Just type make and then run the program... 
tar -zxf powertop-1.9.tar.gz
cd powertop-1.9
make
make install
powertop

Distro packages

Currently, PowerTOP is being added by various contributors to the development versions of Debian*, Gentoo and Fedora*. You can use the online package install tool of your distro (apt-get/emerge/yum/etc) to install PowerTOP on those distributions.

Subversion access

You can get the latest development version of PowerTOP from the subversion repository that is hosted at code.google.com with the following command:

svn checkout http://powertop.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ powertop
