Power Saving Features
The following graph shows the saving in power by employing various power saving features in the Linux development kernel.
Tickless - This feature allows enable the CPU not to be woken up only when necessary instead of at regular interval. It can be enabled by enabling CONFIG_NO_HZ in kernel configuration during compile time.
Scheduler Power Saving Mode - This feature allows the scheduler in the kernel to consolidate various processes onto similar CPU packages to save power.
